Susan Moore, née Calvert, is the older daughter of Reg and Dorothy Calvert. Reg was the driving force behind Radio Sutch and owner of its successor, Radio City. After his death, Dorothy took over the running of the station. Susan herself presented one programme on Radio Sutch and her sister Candy was also heard on the air. They are truly the first family of UK pirate radio. Susan has very kindly sent these photographs from her collection.

Winched aboard

Being winched aboard Shivering Sands. Susan says Reg designed this because it was too dangerous to tie a boat to the leg of the tower when the sea was rough.
